OMG I've made no entry in a week *le shock* xD *EDIT: Actually I typed this yesterday, then the computer failed so I decided to stuff it and I'll go to bed*
Hello world *waves*
Last week and this week have been fun I've been doing work expireince in my MP's constituency office, it's surprisingly good fun! My MP is Jeremy Brown (aka Jezza he has been nicknamed) who fortuantly is a very good MP (and you don't get me saying that about many MPs), it also means I get a good MP hahaha! He's not around this week as he's in Parliament but was around all of last week. He's probably glad to escape me, yes I am cheeky to my MP and like asking awqward political questions....hehe well I'm not too bad (if it was a bad MP then I would be such a bitch) and he doesn't mind, plus it's good that it shows that I'm interested in him and his parties (Lib Dem) politics xD. I can also speed shread, but have been doing more interesting stuff. I met Nick Clegg (Liberal Democrats Leader) and there is an amusing story about my recyling box which I shall now tell you. As the County Council (and European Parliament) elections are coming up Cleggy was visiting the South West including Taunton and the council introduced the green box scheme to receycle paper, which was then extended to glass, clothes and cans (possibly some other stuff too). If the Lib Dems have control of the next council they want to include cardboard and plastic recycling. So for a photograph and small speach Ollie (works in office Constituency Agent - rather want his job) brought in some plastic and cardboard. Then they all realised none of them had brought in a green recyclin box (LOL) with an hour before Clegg arrived. So I became the saviour by offering mine, surprising my mum by turning up at home and then had to explain the recycle box saga. Nick got his photo with my recycling box which can be seen here http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=logo#/photo.php?pid=1802954&id=575527195&ref=mf (yes I am friends with my MP on facebook xD). Cleegy was nice, though I didn't get to speak to him for very long and looks better in person than he did on the tv that night.
I went to a presentation things with the Princes Trust which was rather amusing and resulted in free cake (WIN)! I've been dictating letters (muhahaha I make stuff sound good), been laughing at some of the idiots who ask us questions and been having a good time.
Today was mucho fun as a member who's been very involvede with the Lib Dems for years was leaving to go to Cyprus. I made the food look good, I'm very creative when it comes to presentation (I didn't have to help but I wanted to). I bet the celery and carrots (we did have lots of unhealthy food too) would so not have dissapeared if I hadn't created a star with celery sticks with carrots sticks on them surrounded by yummy bread things. I also made a fort out of cheese and biscuits and well made everything look good and snacked on grapes. I do like this sort of stuff. I also got provided with free wine so free food and wine = WIN!! (Otherwise I do do work). I met lots of interesting people and got some very good advice. I also surprised alot of people when I said I wasn't a member of any political party, but they were nice people who seemed impressed by me and we also had a mutual hatred of the BNP *shudders*.
With the council and European elections coming up there has been lots of election stuff going on in the office so I keep meeting councillers and potential councillors. They better win because otherwise all those leaflets I was doing will have been for nothing.
There are some stupid constituents, like one who asked us "Why do immigrants all have expensive cars?" asking because she had seen "a woman of colour" in a nice car earlier. *Headdesk*.
Also the people I work with are rather cool, especially as I got to blast J-rock round the MPs office.... Yes I am that good. Hehehe Wendy said go to youtube and put some music on, whatever I normally listen to so I did a combination of music in English and Japanese and they really likie Vidoll YeY!!! Today (now Tuesday) with had some BoB Marley playing and they're pretty informal.
My MP made me a cup of tea...it was very good, Jezza can make them, Val can't. Monday I had two cups of tea in 20 minutes... Ollie told me today that he has chemically altered me to drink more tea...I've had 10 cups this year already ahhhh!!!
Jeremy said he'll take me to Parliament sometime, I wanted tot go up for the budget but there wouldn't have been enough time to get me a sercurity pass to all the fun part of Parliament (aka the places I'm not meant to go). So I'm thinking after my exams. He's in Parliamenrt atm but is back on Friday so I'll ask him then.
I'm almost tempted to try getting some work expeirence with some MPs I don't like just so I can be evils to them (however in my letter I would say II supported thier parties policies etc). That's mean isn't it....hmmm.
Also 2 out of 3 parts of my plan are complete. Origionally this plan only had two parts but it's aqquired and extra part now. However fortuantly stage 3 isn't vital but would be useful xD. I also am looking for jobs for after I graduate just to see what's around... I am liking some of these saleries, of course I would get a low salery to start with but give it a while and hopefully I can has lots of moneies and travel the world. However have a way to go before that and finidng a job if I don't do a masters/phd will not be that easy, but at least this has given me more of an idea into what sectors I want to go into, or what I hope to do eventually.
I took my little sister bowling and for pizza on Monday as she complained I hadn't done anything with her this holiday (working). It was fun and now we have free games of bowling win win.
I must really get on with some revision and reading All the Presidents Men.Dam why can't working count as revision and I can just do my exams on fighting with Ollie for chocolate and life in a constituency office >_<.
Loves to all
